Non-Conflict Minerals Policy

                   Non-Conflict Minerals Policy

“No Procurement, No Use of Conflict Metals”

AMSpec is committed to upholding our social responsibility by ensuring that our supply chain is free from metals sourced from conflict regions. We recognize the risks that illicitly mined minerals pose to human rights and the environment, and we are dedicated to sourcing metals in compliance with non-conflict standards. We conduct thorough investigations into our suppliers’ sources and require all of them to adhere strictly to our non-conflict minerals policy.

Risks and Impact of Conflict Minerals

According to the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries are home to numerous armed groups that acquire metals like tantalum(Ta), tin(Sn), tungsten(W), and gold(Au) through forced labor and child exploitation, funding armed conflicts that destabilize local communities and violate human rights. These metals, known as “conflict minerals,” originate from conflict regions, posing a serious challenge to the international supply chain.

Our Commitments

AMSpec is committed to not purchasing metals from conflict-affected or high-risk areas, ensuring that our metal sources meet ethical and regulatory standards. Our non-conflict minerals policy is available on our website, and we require all suppliers to comply with the following:

  1. Conflict-Free Sourcing: Our products and materials must not contain metals sourced from conflict regions.
  2. Supplier Responsibility: All suppliers must conduct a review of their metal sources and sign a non-conflict minerals declaration, ensuring that their metals do not originate from the DRC or its neighboring regions.
  3. Immediate Reporting: If suppliers discover that any materials provided contain metals from conflict regions, they must promptly notify us so that we can take immediate steps to address the issue.

Social and Environmental Responsibility in the Supply Chain

Our non-conflict minerals policy focuses on minimizing human rights risks and fostering responsible supply chain management. Through ongoing monitoring and improvement, we aim not only to meet regulatory standards but also to contribute to stability and transparency in the global metals supply chain.
